Powered by the Legacy of West Pembroke Pines Optimist

West Pines Cobras Venom was founded under the banner of the West Pembroke Pines Optimist — a respected program with a long-standing tradition of excellence in youth baseball.

Led by Coach J, our mission goes beyond wins and stats.

We're here to develop players on and off the field — building character, discipline, teamwork, and a lifelong love for the game.

We believe that great teams are built on trust, accountability, and the courage to grow through every challenge.

Frequently Asked Question

FAQs

What age group is this team for?

We're a 10U travel baseball team (Fall 2025), which means players must be 10 years old or younger as of April 30, 2025.

When does the season start?

Practices begin the week of July 7, with scrimmages and skill development through the summer. Our official Fall season kicks off in early September.

How often do you practice?

We typically practice 2–3 times per week, plus Saturday mornings. We’ll lock in a consistent schedule soon, but expect Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Who coaches the team?

We have an awesome combo of well-known and sought-after professional trainers (for hitting and fielding) and experienced volunteer coaches. This gives players high-quality instruction AND steady mentorship.

Are there monthly fees?

Nope! We don’t charge monthly dues. Beyond low registration, we cover additional team expenses through fundraising and smart strategies—including merch sales, local sponsorships, and social media exposure opportunities. We’re all about making travel ball accessible without constant out-of-pocket asks.

Where does the team practice?

Because we are part of the WPPO (West Pembroke Pines Optimist) organization, we have dedicated field space at Pembroke Shores Park in Pembroke Pines, FL.
